PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a candle filter assembly for a filter device. SOLUTION: A candle filter assembly (24) for a filter device (10) contains a tubular core (30) having an external surface (32) and an internal surface (34) and containing a plurality of openings (35) that extend therethrough, a filtering medium (36) defining between a core and a filtering medium sub-assembly that is supported by the core, and a drain pipe (38) causing a fluid to flow between the external surface and the inside of the drain pipe and containing a plurality of openings (39) extending therethrough. The candle filter assembly further contains an end cap (40) and a first sealing block (52) containing a drain pipe opening (54).
