The chimney module, with a flue gas pipe (22), an outer shaft (12) and insulating material (24), has a retaining device provided in the outer shaft and formed at least partially from fireproof material. The retaining device blocks a movement of the flue gas pipe relative to the outer shaft along the longitudinal axis (LS) of the chimney in at least one direction. The retaining device comprises a plate (28) which is penetrated by the flue gas pipe and which has a stop device (32) to prevent movement of the flue gas pipe.
