<p>The plug (10) has two pipes that are moved with respect to each other. One of the pipes is closed by a plate that is attached at its front side. The pipes have a projection (26) that is directed outwards, and an elastic sealing ring (15) is fixed rectangularly in a cross-section between the pipes. An axially supported screw adjusts the pipes against each other and presses the rectangular sealing ring when bulging out and increasing the diameter in the cross section of the rectangular ring. The ring overlies on the pipe that is closed with the plate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a tool for inserting a plug in an open end of a gas pipe that is to be sanified (2) a method for sealing an open pipe end of a gas pipe with a plug fixed under operating pressure.</p> |
