<p>The irradiation reactor for continuous UV irradiating of a liquid with electromagnetic- or electron radiation, comprises a hollow irradiation chamber (2), radiation permeable windows attached on a casing (7) of the chamber to allow the radiation energy into the irradiation chamber, mechanisms (10, 11) for rinsing the chamber with inert gas, a mechanism for heating the window, and adjustable mechanisms for radiation shielding. The adjustable mechanisms are arranged above the chamber and/or below the window. Inlet (4) and outlet (6) of the chamber are arranged in top and bottom of the chamber respectively. The inlet shows a spraying mechanism (9) with nozzles or film formation nozzle to discharge the liquid through the chamber. The spraying mechanism comprises an arrangement for enlarging the surface of the liquid entering into the chamber. The chamber has circular-, rectangular- or square cross-section. Lower end of the chamber has a tapering cross-section. Low- or high pressure is produced in the interior of the reactor. An independent claim is included for a procedure for UV irradiating of a liquid in a reactor.</p> |
