A device to be introduced into a subject, in which the lens effect is prevented and defects in imaging are eliminated, improving an image and enhancing image quality. A capsule type housing (16) as an exterior case has head cover housings (16a, 16b) and barrel cover housings (16c, 16d). Flat surface sections (16f, 16g) are formed at portions of the outer circumferential surfaces of the barrel cover housings (16c, 16d). Imaging sections (14a, 14b) are placed at positions enabling imaging of the inside of a body cavity of the subject through the flat surface sections (16f, 16g).
