<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform ROPC and to secure the recording quality of data in an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: The controller 30 of the optical disk device performs OPC, sets initial recording power Po, also detects a reflected light quantity Bo at the time, and adjusts recording power P for the reflection light quantity B at the time of recording data so as to be Bo/Po<SP>n</SP>=B/P<SP>n</SP>.
