<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission source identification apparatus and transmission source identification method with which signal switching is detected at a receiving side so as not to incur a transmission error caused by signal switching. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission source identification apparatus comprises: a transmission source identification code extraction circuit for extracting a transmission source identification code provided within a header of an SDDI format of a reception signal; a pretransmission source identification code holding circuit for detecting a change in the transmission source identification code; and a transmission source identification code comparator circuit for detecting switching of a transmission signal based on the changed transmission source identification code, thereby detecting that a transmission source is switched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
