<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control accuracy in photometry/distance measurement and processing time needed for the photometry/distance measurement that match the intension of photographer, for an electronic camera having a plurality of focus detecting means and a plurality of photometric means. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes a sensor AE and a contrast AF which use an imaging element, and in addition, AE and AF means which use another sensor. Based on a photographing mode, it is determined as to which of either the accuracy in photometry/distance measurement or the decrease in processing time needed for the photometry/distance measurement has priority over others. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
