PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component mounting socket suitable for downsizing. SOLUTION: The electronic component mounting socket is provided with: a socket housing 24 equipped with an electronic component housing part 23 surrounded by peripheral walls erected from peripheral sides of a bottom plate, and having an electronic component 22 inserted into the electronic component housing part 23; and a plurality of contact groups 55, 55, ... consisting of a plurality of contacts 25 each having an elastic contact piece. The contact groups 55, 55 are provided in a direction crossing each side from each periphery of the bottom plate 26 of the electronic component housing part, and that, for the contact groups 55, 55 in sides adjacent to each other, it is so arranged that a part or all of tip parts of the elastic contact piece 52 of one of the contact groups 55 are directed toward the elastic contact piece 52 side of the other contact group 55.
