PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply constituted imaging apparatus capable of obtaining a clear image close to that recognized by naked eyes. SOLUTION: Regarding the on-vehicle type imaging apparatus 10 equipped with an optical lens group 11 and an imager 14 for imaging the object image obtained through the optical lens group 11 so as to photograph the surrounding situation of the vehicle, a reference line passing through the center of an imaging area where the object image is imaged is set, and the imaging area is divided into a distant position and a close position from/to the vehicle along the reference line, and the optical lens group 11 includes a cylindrical lens 13 for enlarging the image of the object A at the distant position larger than the image of the object B at the close position in a direction along the reference line, and also, the optical lens group 11 and the imager 14 are arranged in a swing attitude so as to enlarge the image of the object A at the distant position larger than the image of the object B at the close distance in a direction vertical to the direction along the reference position.
