PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which can instantaneously determine whether or not reception setting is adequately performed, and to provide a program and a reception setting method. SOLUTION: Firstly, the reception setting is performed based on contents of a reception setting file stored in a USB memory (steps S110 to S120), and after the setting, a response file containing an inherent number to the reception setting file for use in the setting, inherent information to a printer is created (steps S130, S140), and a date and time that is a predetermined time period earlier than an access date and time of a time stamp of the reception setting file is set as a creation date and time and an access date and time of the time stamp of the response file (step S150). The time stamp based on the time stamp of the reception setting file is set on the response file, and therefore by comparing the time stamp of the reception setting file with the time stamp of the response file, it is instantaneously determined whether or not the reception setting is adequately performed.
