An array substrate for an LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to incorporate an image input function into a display function, thereby achieving the improvement in the spatial utilization and the manufacturing cost in comparison with conventional device having the display function and the image input function independently, by forming an image sensor within the array substrate to add the image input function for inputting documents, images, or positional information in the display function. A gate line(105) is formed on a substrate. A sensor driving line(108) and a sensor bias line(112) are formed in parallel with the gate line. A data line crosses the gate line to define a pixel region. A lead-out line(153) is formed in parallel with the data line. A switching thin film transistor(SwTr) is connected to the gate line and the data line, and includes a first source electrode and a first drain electrode. A sensor thin film transistor(SrTr) includes a second source electrode connected to the driving line and a second drain electrode facing the second source electrode. An output thin film transistor(OTr) includes a third drain electrode diverged from the lead-out line, and a third source electrode facing the third drain electrode. The third source electrode is connected to the second drain electrode. A pixel electrode(186) is connected to the first drain electrode of the switching thin film transistor. A pixel storage capacitor(PStgC) has a first storage electrode formed of a portion of the sensor bias line, and a second storage electrode corresponding to the first storage electrode. The second storage electrode is formed of an island-shaped metal pattern connected to the pixel electrode. A sensor storage capacitor includes a first sensor storage electrode using the third source electrode, and a second sensor storage electrode corresponding to the first sensor storage electrode. The second sensor storage electrode is formed of a first transparent conductive pattern connected to the sensor bias line. |
