Provided is an optical beam output control device which can correctly perform negative feedback control to different types of optical beams. An optical pickup device (100) calculates an error between an output intensity level of a detected optical beam and a target value, decides an offset quantity based on a correction quantity in accordance with the calculated error and the type of the optical beam, and controls the output intensity level of the optical beam based on the offset quantity.
