<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device allowing dispersed arrangement of constitution members, a reduced dead space and reduced aberration by a low manufacture cost. <P>SOLUTION: In an approach path for irradiating a disk recording surface 12 with a laser beam, the laser beam emitted from a laser diode 2 is reflected by a polarizing mirror 3, polarized by a 1/4 wavelength plate 4, emitted from an objective lens 5 and converged on the disk recording surface 12. In a return path for receiving the laser beam reflected by the disk recording surface 12, the laser beam reflected by the disk recording surface 12 is dispersed by the objective lens 5, polarized by the 1/4 wavelength plate 4, transmitted through the polarizing mirror 3, reflected by the total reflection film 61 of the 1/4 wavelength plate 6 with the reflection film, reflected by the polarizing mirror 3 and is made incident on a photodiode 7. The laser diode 2 and the photodiode 7 are arranged respectively on both sides of the polarizing mirror 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
