PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible an easy data communication while charging of a communication instrument unit capable of data communication, in order to prevent bothersome operations of placing the unit in a charger to charge it and connecting a cable to it for data communication which are conducted separately. SOLUTION: By setting the main body (1) of the instrument which can be opened and closed in the main body (2) of the charger, the main body of the instrument is easily connected to a socket (8) which is capable of supplying both power and a data communication signal to the instrument. This invention allows the user to check the current use condition of the instrument while the instrument is in a state of being able to be charged and the main body (1) of the instrument is in a closed state, as well as allowing the user to operate buttons while the main body (1) of the instrument is in a closed state.
