PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for complementing information required for an imaging apparatus to make communication with an external device within its own apparatus. SOLUTION: Prior to wireless connection, a digital camera 100 acquires setting information for wireless communication and generates information of missing items in response to a type of each item included in the acquired setting information. Then the digital camera 100 updates the setting information by including the generated information to the setting information as the information of the missing items and sets the updated setting information to itself.
