PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining a ship anchoring position using a fish finder, and the fish finder used therefor, capable of determining an anchoring position of a ship by a GPS, by inputting tidal current angle and anchor angle information. SOLUTION: This method of the present invention is provided with: a process for measuring a tidal current azimuth angle and an anchor azimuth angle from the own ship 2, by anchoring the own ship 2 in a tide position of a fish shoal 3; and a process for determining the anchoring position of the own ship 2, by displaying virtually the own ship 2 to be position on a straight line with the tidal current azimuth angle from the fish shoal 3 within a display area of the fish finder 8, based on the tidal current azimuth angle and the anchor azimuth angle.
