PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of emitting predetermined linearly polarized light while reducing the loss of light quantity. SOLUTION: The light source device 20 has: a plurality of light emitting elements 26 arranged so that their light emitting surfaces may turn to the emitting surface side of the light source device; a polarized light selective element 22 transmitting light in a predetermined polarization direction out of light from the light emitting elements and reflecting light in a polarization direction different from the predetermined polarization direction; and a reflection surface 25A arranged nearer to the light emitting element side than the polarized light selective element and reflecting the reflected light from the polarized light selective element to the polarized light selective element side.
