PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a camera which is excellent in shock resistance and whose entire height is small. SOLUTION: The actuator 1 for the camera has: a lens unit 10 constituting the optical system of the camera; a holder 8 for housing the lens unit 10 and also capable of moving along in the optical axis direction of the actuator for the camera; a coil 7 provided on the holder 8; a yoke 5 and a magnet 6 for providing magnetic field to the coil 7; a leaf spring 41 for supporting the holder 8; a cover 2 provided to cover over the holder 8 and also formed of a metallic plate; and a stopper 3 provided on the holder 8 and also provided while leaving space between the cover 2 and the stopper 3. When the holder 8 is displaced suddenly and the stopper 3 comes into contact with the cover 2, the cover 2 is elastically deformed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
