PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high-speed as well as high-accuracy return to a home position. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 includes a direct driving mechanism system 2; a position detection system 3 equipped with an MR element (MR) 31 for outputting a two-phase analog signal, an A/D conversion circuit (ADC) 32, a phase detection circuit (PH) 33, a phase counter circuit (CNT) 34, a phase division circuit (RES) 35 and a relative position circuit (POS) 36; an origin position detection system 4 having a photointerrupter (PI) 41, a Schmitt trigger buffer circuit 42 and an origin position latch circuit (RST) 43; a microcomputer 5 having a CPU 51 and a ROM 52; and a lens-driving system 6 constituted of a target circuit (TGT) 61, a servo command part (SV) 62 and a driver circuit (DRV) 63.
