PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device of a particulate material capable of detecting the foreign matter having gotten mixed in a particulate material with high precision. SOLUTION: The inspection device 1 of the particulate material is composed of a supply mechanism 10 for supplying the particulate material F, a falling mechanism 20 for adjusting the layer thickness of the particulate material F supplied from the supply mechanism 10 to allow the particulate material F to fall, an inspection mechanism 30 for inspecting whether the foreign matter gets mixed in the falling particulate material F, a foreign matter recovery mechanism 50 for recovering the foreign matter and a good product recovery mechanism 55 for recovering the particulate material F falling to the lower end part of a falling route. The inspection mechanism 30 is equipped with a floodlight projection part 31 for irradiating the falling particulate material F with a laser beam while scanning the same, a light diffusion member 37 for diffusing and reflecting the laser beam, a light detection part 40 for receiving the laser beam diffused and reflected by the particulate material F and the light diffusion member 37 to form an electric signal and a judge part 45 for judging the presence of the mixture of the foreign matter based on the formed electric signal.
