PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet stacking device for accurately stacking sheets with high reliability. SOLUTION: The device comprises a receiving plane, a rotatably arranged element, its drive means, a stop, and a closed loop friction element. The rotatably arranged element has a slot in the peripheral end for receiving parts of sheets to be stacked. The rotatably arranged element receives the sheets to be stacked in a first rotation region, and the sheets received in a second rotation region are carried onto the receiving plane. The closed loop friction element is mounted at the peripheral end of the rotatably arranged element for transferring force onto the upper sides of the sheets coming out of the slot in at least part of one rotation of the rotatably arranged element being operated. A component of the force is directed to the stop. The closed loop friction element is located not to interrupt the operation of the sheets, and the sheets are received in the first rotation region by the slot. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
