PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quilt, hiding unsmoothness of a surface cloth side due to quilting to give an appearance of highest quality. SOLUTION: An upper cloth 5 piece covering the surface cloth 1 subjected to quilting 3 is fitted to interpose a gap retaining material 6 between the upper cloth 5 piece and the surface cloth 1, whereby the rugged surface of the surface cloth 1 due to quilting 3 is smoothed by the gap holding material 6 to improve the appearance not to produce the rugged upper cloth piece 5.
