A solid-state organic dye laser (1) comprises a substrate (2) and a resonator structure comprising an organic semiconductor thin film (3) formed on the substrate (2). The organic semiconductor thin film (3) comprises an organic semiconductor material which has a high emission quantum yield and shows substantially no excitation absorption at excitation revel, comprises a bisstylyl derivative or a triphenylamine derivative, and can produce an amplified spontaneous oscillation continuously by irradiation with excitation light. The organic semiconductor thin film (3) may comprise a material having BSB-Cz or TPD added to a host molecule comprising CBP, which can produce an amplified spontaneous oscillation at a threshold value as low as 3 mW.
