<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display or generate a map image that a user in travel can obtain easily and intuitively. <P>SOLUTION: In an image providing system, the image generating device 2 is communicably connected with an external imaging apparatus 1, and the image display device 3 is communicably connected with the image generating device 2. In the image display device 3, a display section 34 displays a first map image around a moving body having itself. A communication section 35 transmits the view point angle and sight line direction of the displayed first map image, and requests a view point conversion image from the image generating device 2. In the image generating device 2, a central processing section 33, in response to the request of the communication section 35, generates the view point conversion image where the view point angle and sight line direction of the photographed image obtained from the imaging apparatus 1 are matched with the view point angle and sight line direction of the first map image. The communication section 35 transmits the view point conversion image generated in the central processing section 33 to the image display device 3.
