<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which is superior in power generation efficiency and strength, and which is provided with a solid electrolyte film capable of alleviating distortion caused by swelling when the solid electrolyte film is swollen. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell is provided with at least the solid electrolyte film and a catalyst electrode layer arranged and installed on both sides of the solid electrolyte film, and the fuel cell in which the solid electrolyte film has: a high ion exchange capacity region 1; an intermediate ion exchange capacity region 2 which is positioned at the outer edge of the high ion exchange capacity region and of which the ion exchange capacity is lower than that of the high ion exchange capacity region; and a low ion exchange capacity region 3 which is positioned at the outer edge of the intermediate ion exchange capacity region and of which the ion exchange capacity is lower than that of the intermediate ion exchange capacity region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
