<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical spatial transmission apparatus which can specify the position of an optical receiver at a high speed using a simple configuration and can be miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmitter 1 comprises a light-emitting element 2 for converting an electric signal into an optical signal; a transmission circuit 3 for converting an electric signal for data communication into a shape suitable for the light-emitting element 2 to drive the light-emitting element 2; a half mirror 4; a concave lens 5; a convex lens 6; a sensor 7; and a control section 8 for processing a detection signal from the sensor 7 and controlling the concave and convex lenses 5 and 6. The electric signal for data communication is converted into an optical signal in the light-emitting element 2 and transmitted to an optical receiver 21 through a space. The optical receiver 21 receives the spatially transmitted optical signal using a light-receiving element 22, converts the received signal into an electric signal and outputs the converted signal from a reception circuit 23.
