<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and properly clean off toner stuck to a roller in a heat fixing part, when restoring from jamming in an image forming apparatus provided with the heat fixing part which fuses a toner image formed on a paper by heat to fix the toner image onto the paper. <P>SOLUTION: When jamming occurs, occurrence of jamming in the fixing part is discriminated, when that paper is detected by a sensor in the downstream side of the fixing part in step S1, and when the front end of the paper does not reach the sensor in step S2 and density of printing is thick in step S3. The number x of passing white paper is determined by printing rates of entire pages in step S4, and cleaning is automatically performed in step S11, when the execution is selected in step S7, and notification is performed in step S9, when automatic notification is selected in step S8.
