<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for correcting a part of a predetermined packet contained in a broadcasting TS. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a means (31) for inputting a broadcasting TS and detecting hierarchy information of each broadcasting TS packet; a means (32) for delaying the broadcasting TS; a means (37) for inputting an MPEG-TS for rewriting; a means (33) which generates a signal for selecting a delayed broadcasting TS packet when hierarchy information does not indicate a predetermined hierarchy, and generates a signal for selecting an MPEG-TS packet for rewriting when the hierarchy information indicates the predetermined hierarchy; and a means (38) for selectively outputting the delayed broadcasting TS packet and the MPEG-TS packet for rewriting. Moreover, the apparatus can further comprise a means (34) for correcting a PAT packet of a broadcasting TS, and a means (35) for correcting a NIT packet of a broadcasting TS.
