PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the aberration due to a lens shape error and lens building-in error while preventing upsizing of an imaging lens and complicating of lens building-in adjustment in the imaging lens of a small size using liquid crystal variable deflection prisms. SOLUTION: In the imaging lens having a lens system and an imaging element for imaging an optical image formed through the lens system, the lens system includes the first liquid crystal variable deflection prism which deflects the ray direction of the polarization component parallel to certain one axis within a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the incident ray and the second liquid crystal variable deflection prism which deflects the ray direction of the polarization component orthogonal to the one axis of the incident ray. The lens system is constituted such that the ray direction can be changed to a prescribed direction by the first and second liquid crystal variable deflection prisms. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
