PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the internal volume and depth of the lowest compartment by mounting a compressor above while reducing projections of the highest back and improving transportability and heat radiation efficiency. SOLUTION: The refrigerator has the compressor 52 mounted at the back of the ceiling of the highest storage compartment, which is a dead space unreachable even by tiptoeing. A machine compartment 51 for storing the compressor 52 is covered in a machine compartment cover 62 made of resin and metal, and a connecting member 65 is provided outside, so that the refrigerator can be transported easily and safely. The connecting member 65 is stably arranged with spaces 70a to 70c against the machine compartment cover 62 to ensure heat radiation space and improve heat radiation efficiency.
