PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the slipping off of a film 14 and the cambering of a substrate 16 caused by the application of a tensile force to the tip of the continuous film 14 attached temporarily to the front end of the substrate 16. SOLUTION: The continuous film 14 is laminated on the substrate 16 between a pair of pressure rolls 23 and 23'. A temporarily attaching member 10 adsorbs and holds the continuous film 14 and is movable toward the substrate 16. The temporarily attaching member 10 is moved by a precisely controllable independent drive mechanism. The drive mechanism causes the temporarily attaching member 10 to carry out first-stage movement for the relaxation of the tension of the film and second-stage movement for cutting the film by a cutter 24.
