PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct luminous an energy variation on an image carrier caused by a difference in a reflection factor and distortion among surfaces. SOLUTION: The image forming device performing laser writing to the image carrier by scanning laser light reflected on surfaces of a rotary polyhedron mirror rotating at a fixed speed, measures the interval of a signal from a BD sensor by a basic image clock and a clock obtained by multiplying the basic image clock and stores it by associating it to each of the surfaces, detects the surface to scan the image carrier on the basis of the measured interval and the stored interval and converts the image data signal to a laser driving pulse signal by an image clock generated from the basic image clock correspondingly to the surface in accordance with the image data signal.
