<p>This invention provides a fuel addition apparatus in which, in a transient state at which the front end temperature of a fuel addition valve enters a high-temperature range, rather than the mere addition of the fuel in a clogging preventive amount depending upon a map, the fuel is added by, while taking into consideration the delay of a temperature rise in the fuel addition valve in the transient state, calculating the addition of a clogging preventive amount based on the time of elapse from the entry of the front end temperature of the fuel addition valve into a front end high-temperature range, and the engine operation condition (for example, engine rotation speed), and adding the calculated amount of the fuel (steps ST4 to ST6). The addition control can realize the addition of the fuel in a proper addition amount corresponding to the temperature rise of the fuel addition valve in the transient state, and, thus, the amount of the unnecessarily added fuel can be reduced.</p> |
