<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media converter etc. capable of displaying the generation of a failure in an optical fiber circuit, a station building side or in-house side media converter so that a customer can easily recognize it. <P>SOLUTION: The media converter 10 is provided with an optical level detecting means 16 for detecting a light reception level; a reception level propriety determining means 18 for determining that the light reception level is good if the light reception level is not less than a light reception level lower limit set at a value larger by a predetermined value than an optical link lower limit, and determining that the light reception level is no good if it is less than the light reception level lower limit; a control means 19 for determining whether an optical link of an optical fiber circuit side is good or not; and a failure generation determining means 20 for determining whether a failure is generated based on results of determination of the control means 19 and the determining means 18 and the propriety of the optical link in other media converters to be mutually connected via the optical fiber circuit, and causing a failure generation display means 21 to visually or audibly indicate a result of this determination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
