PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce data quantity of a data stream recorded in a recording medium without deteriorating a real time property at the time of recording and/or reproducing.

SOLUTION: In the recording apparatus 1, a specific packet having specific attribute in the data stream is detected, payload out of a header and pay load of the detected specific packet is removed from the data stream, and the data stream in which payload of the specific packet is removed is recorded in a recording medium 2.
