PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and thickness of the actuator of the optical pickup head. SOLUTION: The actuator of the optical pickup head with horizontally disposed magnetic field generator and coil device is provided. The actuator includes a lens holder, the magnetic field generator and the coil device. The coil device is horizontally disposed on one or both sides of the lens holder and includes a focusing coil and a tracking coil disposed on the same horizontal surface. The magnetic field generator includes a first magnet and a second magnet. The lens holder is disposed horizontally between the first magnet and the second magnet. The first magnet and the second magnet are respectively provided with a first magnetic domain, a second magnetic domain, a third magnetic domain. a fourth magnetic domain, and a fifth magnetic domain, respectively. The magnetic field generator can generate the first magnetic field and the second magnetic field vertical to each other by selecting a magnetic surface adjacent to the coil device as a different polarity in the respective magnetic domains.
