PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of reducing load required for a user to set a memory area of a copy destination. SOLUTION: The storage system is used which is provided with a main storage having a main memory area, a first sub storage having a first sub memory area and a second sub storage having a second sub memory area. The main storage writes requested data to the main memory area according to a host request from a host computer. The main storage transmits first and second copy requests including copy data obtained by copying the host data to the first and second sub storages, to store the copy data in the first and second sub memory areas. The second sub memory area is specified by use of a virtual identifier used for specifying the second sub memory area as a virtual memory area in the main storage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
