PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for a slave to actively transmit data to a master in a communication method with good transfer efficiency in which the master collectively transfers output data to slaves in one OUT frame, and each of the slaves returns an IN frame including input data in a determined time zone. SOLUTION: In the communication method of a PLC system including the master and a plurality of slaves connected to a field bus in which the master collectively transfers output data to the slaves in one OUT frame, and each of the slaves returns an IN frame including input data in a predetermined time zone, the master designates one or more slaves for which presence/absence of message communication request is to be confirmed in the OUT frame, and the slaves designated in the OUT frame return an answer frame showing the presence/absence of message request.
