PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which ensures a short start-up time, allows fixing of a small-particle-diameter toner at a low temperature, forms no abnormal image and excels in durability. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a fixing section in which a toner image is fixed on a recording medium by applying heat and pressure, wherein the toner forming the toner image contains a crystalline polyester (A), the fixing section has a fixing rotatory body and a pressing rotatory body, and a surface layer of the fixing rotatory body which comes in contact with the toner image has a surface resistivity of 1×10<SP>8</SP>-1×10<SP>11</SP>Ω/sq.
