PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of convection of air in a bottom face vicinity of a heat insulating box, in a refrigerator with a compressor mounted in an upper part. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator, the compressor is mounted in a machine chamber formed by recessing a ceiling face rear of the heat insulating box toward an interior side, a space between a bottom face of the heat insulating box and a bottom face cover is formed like a wide duct, and a fan and an evaporating tray for melting and storing frost adhered to an evaporator are arranged in the space. Dew condensation with respect to a lower face of a base plate or the like of the refrigerator can be efficiently prevented by utilizing a space of the heat insulating box bottom face not occupied by the compressor. The refrigerator with increased housing volume and high housing ability in a storage chamber provided in a lowermost shelf of the refrigerator is provided by simplifying a composition of a machine chamber composed on the bottom face.
