PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To delay the time when a vaporizing filter clogs by dividing the vaporizing filter into upwind and downwind elements and sizing vents in the upwind vaporizing filter larger than vents in the downwind vaporizing filter. SOLUTION: A vaporizing humidifier comprises a humidifier body 2 having a suction opening 3 and a discharge opening 5, a blower 14 disposed in the humidifier body, the vaporizing filter 16 disposed in an air passage 15 for the blower, and a water tank 17 for supplying water to the vaporizing filter. The vaporizing filter 16 is divided into the upwind first vaporizing filter 16A and downwind second vaporizing filter 16B each comprising flat sheets and corrugated sheets combined alternately to form many vents, and the many vents in the upwind first vaporizing filter 16A are made larger than the many vents in the downwind second vaporizing filter 16B.
