<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To customize the number or types of functions to be displayed on a simple picture, according to the needs of a user in a GUI in which the switching display of a standard picture for displaying full functions and a simple picture is possible. <P>SOLUTION: A user is able to register function keys to be displayed on a simple picture via an input screen. The user presses the initial setting key of a control panel, and calls an input picture(attached Figure) for registering the function keys from a shown menu on a liquid crystal touch panel. On a registration function key input picture, button groups 115 to 119 for registration as blank display and a button group with full functions which can be assigned to the buttons for registration in a display region below this are displayed. After the buttons for registration have been depressed, the buttons of the functions selected from the function button group are depressed so that the functions can be assigned, and that the blank display can be changed to the display of the selected functions.
