PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave absorber by which identification wave of a vehicle passing through one lane is prevented from reaching an ETC system of another lane when lanes for ETC systems, provided for toll booths of a tollway are adjacent to each other, in view of the fact that identification wave of the vehicle in one lane is captured also by the ETC system in the other lane and is in danger of causing malfunctions and which exhibits high rigidity. SOLUTION: The wave absorber 1 is manufactured, by sandwiching a mesh like wave shielding functional material which is a net or the like formed of stainless steel wire rods by two absorber main bodies 2 which are formed like gratings of GFRP, including carbon granulated bodies. The wave absorber 1 exhibits proper rigidity by the absorber main bodies 2 formed like gratings, and can be kept upright, in a section in the lane L for ETC by using a simple support structure.
