PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for reducing deterioration in the reception characteristics even on the occurrence of an erasure state. SOLUTION: A demodulation section 20 demodulates a received signal sequence. A derive section 22 derives a phase error of the demodulated signal sequence. When the derived phase error is small, a soft decision section 26 applies soft decision to the demodulated signal sequence, and when the derived phase error is large, the soft decision section 26 applies hard decision to parts of data signals in the demodulated signal sequence that are low in the reliability by the soft decision, while executing the soft decision for parts of known signals in the demodulated signal sequence. A confirming section 36 acquires values of the known signal parts in the decided signal sequence and confirms the phases of the demodulated signal sequence on the basis of the acquired values. A decoding section 38 decodes the data signals in the decided signal sequence in the signal sequence whose phases are confirmed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
