PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out aging which does not spoil display quality by suppressing abnormal discharge caused by aging, in an aging process of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for carrying out the aging process to generate aging discharge, the aging device 24 is composed of an aging voltage generating means to generate a voltage pulse by switching switching elements S1-S4 and a control circuit 26 to switch the switching elements S1-S4 of the aging voltage generating means, and the control circuit is structured so as to count the pulse from an oscillator oscillating at a prescribed frequency and output a control signal to switch the switching elements when the counted value reaches a prescribed value.
