PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the floating height of a magnetic function part even when the air density of a using environment is changed in a magnetic head device turned to a floating attitude by an air flow formed on the surface when moving a recording medium. SOLUTION: The intermediate area of the slider 10 of the magnetic head device 1 is provided with a deep recessed bottom part 51 and does not practically generate floating pressure, and surfacing force F1 and F1 acts on a front positive pressure surface 21 positioned at the front and a back positive pressure surface 25 positioned at the back. Since the back positive pressure surface 25 is positioned more on the front than a trailing side end face 10d provided with the magnetic function part, when the air density declines and the floating distance of the slider 10 declines, the leading side end part 10c of the slider 10 is brought down with the vicinity of the back positive pressure surface 25 as a fulcrum and a pitch angleθis reduced. Thus, the trailing side end part 10d is relatively lifted and the decline of the floating height of the trailing side end face 10d is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
