PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video and audio editing system enabling a user to simply and accurately specify a time range in editing a time line. SOLUTION: In the video and audio editing system comprising: a display device 2 including a user interface 20 which displays video and audio as a time line 21 along a time axis, specifies an arbitrary time range on the time line 21, moves a reproducing head 22 within the range, outputs the video on a preview screen to edit by cutting out and clipping and a controller 1 which controls the display device 2, the user interface 20 has a function to align the reproducing head 22 on the starting point or the endpoint of the editorial range by controlling the display device 2 by the control device 1.
