PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an art capable of simply constructing and operating a server computer system. SOLUTION: This block computing system is provided with one or a plurality of server block devices each having a unique application function, and a chassis device capable of connecting the plurality of server block devices; the chassis device has a power supply means for supplying power to the connected server block devices, and a LAN means enabling the communication between the connected server block devices; and the server block device has a connect-time processing means, when connected to the chassis device, distributing information related to itself and, when receiving a request to change the setting as a reply, setting itself according to the setting change request for executing the cooperative operation with another server block device, and a connection accepting means, when receiving information related to another sever block device from the other server block device connected to the position adjacent to the chassis device, transmitting a setting change request necessary for the cooperative operation as a reply.
