<p>A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the mobile terminal that detects an instantaneous BLER degradation and quickly achieve an appropriate target SIR, thereby preventing an excessive request for a transmission power of a base station. The mobile terminal has a target SIR control part (105) that detects, based on a determination result of a cyclic redundancy check, a burst error state indicative of a degradation of the communication environment, a burst error restoration state indicative of a restoration of the communication environment and a steady communication state indicative of a good condition of the communication environment; reduces the target SIR by a first reduction amount each time a good determination result of the cyclic redundancy check is obtained after detecting a burst error state; detects a state in which the target SIR is reduced by a burst error restoration determination reference that is a predetermined reduction amount; determines that the detected state is a burst error restoration state; and reduces the target SIR by a second predetermined reduction amount.</p> |
